Studying
in India: The Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Rajya Sabha said in a written response on Wednesday that the Ministry of Education (MOE) intends to attract foreign students to study in India.

According to the statement, on April 18, 2018, the government launched a Study-in-India program that aims to attract foreign students to Indian colleges through systematic branding, marketing, social media and digital marketing. The

program involves a partnership with over 160 selected Indian colleges/universities (based on NIRF Ranking and NAAC grading).

For admission of foreign students in India, the Ministry of Education has established a centralized admissions web portal (https://studyinindia.gov.in/) to encourage the international student community to study in the best institutes from India.

He went on to say that in order to get a scholarship to study in India, students would have to take an exam called PRAGATII (Applicants Performance Qualification via Global Aptitude Test for Indian Institutions). Students from all over the world are eligible to apply under this flagship program. However, our focus is on 48 target countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. We managed to reach international students through Indian Missions Abroad and with extensive branding exercises via newspapers, radio, facebook, instagram, google display and search network, twitter, emails, whatsapp, telegrams etc.
